Then, use our designer’s expertise to help you to pick out features, colors, fabrics, and furnishings to complete your new space.

OUR HISTORY
Nova Custom Builders was created from a particular skill in woodworking that received much notice for Founder and Owner Matthew Furlong.
Matthew Furlong began his career in a Michigan mill shop, turning raw lumber into mouldings, cabinets and other fine woodwork for the company’s high-end clientele. Establishing a reputation on his own, he then opened his own company Nova Custom Builders in 2002, at the tender age of 19.
When an opportunity came along in 2005 to create and install custom woodwork and cabinetry in the Middleburg estate home of Sheila Johnson, co-founder of BET Television, Matthew took it, and relocated to the Washington D.C. metro area. Since that job, Matthew’s reputation for fine woodwork, historical renovations, remodeling, and excellent customer service quickly spread, and referrals still dominate his schedule.
Today, Nova Custom Builders provides general contracting services, and fine woodworking and carpentry to its clients as a Northern Virginia custom home remodeling firm.
